Check out a Canadian expert on LEGAL INNOVATION: Mitch Kowalski
Over the past six or so months I've become increasingly interested in AWESOME INNOVATION and alternative ways of practicing law. I began researching and reading up on law firms and lawyers doing things differently and creating LIVES that they LOVE, and I began sharing it with all of you in my LAW LOVE STORIES series! I absolutely loved doing it and the series was such a hit... that I just can’t let it go!
So I started brainstorming the best way to offer you more VALUABLE information on innovation and examples of LAWYERS LOVING LIFE... and after a bit of thinking it hit me! Why not share with you the sources of my research - the places that I like to go for the latest information on legal innovation?!
When I started developing an interest in these issues, I soon realised that there are many other lawyers out there that have been writing about them. There is a wealth of well-researched information with new material being published every day - and I would love nothing more than to help young lawyers tap into it! So for the next 10 weeks I am going to share with you a post about EITHER a particular lawyer or law firm doing things differently, OR a fellow lawyer/writer who is offering VALUABLE information about INNOVATION and lawyers doing things DIFFERENT.
Today I am writing about one such writer/lawyer, Mitch Kowalski. (He is one of my favorites!) Not only is he Canadian, and writing about relevant, exciting innovation in the legal profession, he’s also BOLD and FEARLESS in expressing his views (and his articles are entertaining!).
To get a bit of background about Mitch, check out his website bio.
Here are some of the posts by Mitch that I’ve enjoyed - about legal innovation, lawyers doing things differently, and changes in what he calls not the legal profession, but the “legal services industry” all over the world:
He’s also written a book, Avoiding Extinction: Reimagining Legal Services for the 21st Century, which has great reviews (and is on my reading list)! You can find out more about it here.
You can also check out this video on You Tube where Mitch speaks about Reimagining Legal Services for the 21st Century:
I encourage you to go out and read some of his stuff, and get INSPIRED!
Here’s to each of us creating LIVES that we LOVE.
